What?
Yep, How do you like to drink? Do you like to chug, do you like to sip slowly, savoring the drink, maybe sloshing it around in your mouth before you swallow? Does it depend on how you are feeling or maybe the circumstances at hand.
When you come in from working in the yard or a nice run you are more thank likely to chug. When you are finally stopping for a moment to have a drink you earned, whether it is soda, iced coffee, tea, etc. you are more likely to sip.
Let's go even further. Different drinks seem to be more fitting for certain circumstances. You are probably not going to chug hot chocolate after a run...
There are easily over 1,000,000 varieties of drinks in the world today. With all the choices and combinations it is still possible to chug or sip and not have your thirst quenched.
You see it depends on what we are drinking... always.
Did you know mercy's cup is always full, over flowing? It never runs dry. This cup is packed full of all the "nutrients" you need to not only maintain your spiritual health but to grow.
Your physical, mental and emotional health is directly related to your spiritual health.
....So when your physically body is screaming and the doctor's reports are good, but not what you wanted to hear... chug.
.....When the sun is setting and you are overwhelmed by the goodness of the Lord, sip and savor the moment.
....When those you love make choices that are opening doors to heartache in their life, chug. Pound the ground on their behalf, calling out to the one true King and chug.
......When the enemy tries to convince you the mountain is too big, dance around the mountain with praise on your lips, stopping only to chug from mercy's cup.
.....When you don't know how to pray, chug.
.....When you are sitting on His lap pressing so hard into his chest, never wanting to leave, sip and savor.
The last few months have brought a whole new definition to the season I have found myself in the last few years... Holy & Hard. It is the sweet cup of Mercy that has sustained me and allowed me to press on.
This is my story, part of my heart. You are loved.
